Despite the regulatory threshold of peat deeper than 3 meters is not allowed for agricultural cultivating activities, yet, about 40% oil palm plantation in the Ex-Mega Rice Project (EMRP), Central Kalimantan located in deep peatland (>3 meters depth). Continuing oil palm practices on deep peat in the EMRP will release high carbon dioxide results from peat drained and other factors.
